Its services support students and faculty before, during, and after the study abroad experience in order to ensure that study abroad is an essential part of an Emory College education.
Emory College Study Abroad Vision Statement
We believe international experience is an integral part of a liberal arts education. Emory College continues to expand the international perspective and understanding of its students by providing opportunities to study and learn for a substantial period of time in another country and to engage with other cultural perspectives. Such an education abroad experience not only fosters appreciation of cultures and languages other than our own, but it also promotes a better, more discerning understanding of the U.S. in all of its own diversity. Education abroad experiences are essential to the development and preparation of students for future scholarship and careers; therefore, students in all disciplines and programs of Emory College should be offered the opportunity to spend a summer, semester, or year outside the U.S. Moreover, we believe education abroad opportunities should be available to all students regardless of financial need. Emory College Study Abroad strives to represent a diversity of disciplines, destinations, and student demographics in its offerings.
