External Scholarships

Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarships: Students who will study abroad and who receive a Pell Grant are eligible to apply. The Spring/Early Decision Summer deadline is October 1, 2019. The Fall/Regular Summer/Year deadline is in early March. Students should meet with their Emory College Study Abroad Advisor to discuss the application and send their essays in early for their study abroad advisor to review.

Boren Scholarship: Students who will study abroad and learn a "critical language" relevant to national security interests (broadly defined) are eligible to apply.

Bridging Scholarships: U.S. undergraduate students who will study abroad in Japan and eligible to apply.

BUTEX Student Scholarships: Students who have been accepted to study abroad in the UK are eligible to apply.  Only one application deadline each year typically in mid-June.

Freeman-ASIA Awards: U.S. undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need who will study abroad in East or Southeast Asia are eligible to apply.

Fund for Education (FEA) Abroad Scholarships: A variety of available scholarships and eligibility. The deadline for Spring 2020 applicants is September 10, 2019. The deadline for fall and summer 2020 applications will likely be in early January.

Lord Acton Memorial Scholarship:  Students who will study abroad in the UK are eligible to apply.  One one application deadline each year.
